[Trenton, NJ] – The Downtown Trenton Neighborhood Preservation Program (NPP) is pleased to introduce the 2023 Downtown Trenton Neighborhood Preservation Program's (NPP) Home Exterior Grants, dedicated to enhancing the homes of downtown residents. These grants, with a maximum award of $5,000, support impactful exterior improvements visible from the street, including window enhancements, lighting improvements, painting, and more.
Key Information:
Project Max: Up to $5,000 per eligible property.
Eligibility: Property owners must complete an entry form and operate within the Downtown Trenton NPP area (see map on the below)
Application Deadline: Rolling deadline, beginning September 5, 2023. Projects must be completed by December 16, 2023.
Review and Award: Applications will be reviewed and awarded by the NPP Stakeholders Group, with preference given to properties owned by Trenton residents.
Ownership Requirement: Applicants must own the property they intend to improve.
Combining Funds: Property owners can use an NPP Grant in conjunction with other grants or personal funds, with disclosure required on the completed application.
Design and Installation: A designated contractor provided by Isles will collaborate with property owners.
Payment: The award is paid directly to the contractor (50% upfront, 50% upon project completion and approval by the property owner).
Eligible projects include:
front door replacement/repainting
porch concrete repair/repainting
exterior lighting improvements
window repair/replacement
painting (with approved colors)
masonry repairs
historic character improvements
The proposed projects must be located within the Downtown Trenton Neighborhood Preservation Program (NPP) area, as indicated on the map.
